Metal Mule History
“While travelling across the world on my bike the thing that constantly let me down was my luggage system. Almost everything about it was frustrating. The security wasn’t great and I didn’t feel like my gear was safe when I left my bike. Instead of enjoying the wonders of the world I was worrying about whether my belongings would still be there when I got back.
Then there was the panniers. They were impossible to remove from the bike without taking out all of my belongings. Really not great when it was raining and I just wanted to get to my bed, or urgent repairs were needed on the bike. Just as frustrating was the inability to get into the panniers when the lids became locked after a steep uphill caused a change in air pressure. All these frustrations niggled at me and talking to other bikers I realised I was going to have to take on board the age old saying - if you can’t beat them, join them.
And that was how Metal Mule came into being.
In 2007 my first design came to life. Since then our products have evolved and changed to include a full luggage system which I’m incredibly proud of.”
